What a weekend this past one was. Thursday we had day at the Splash Park. My sister-in-law and her family came from out of town. We were there for 3 hours. One thing I don't understand is why the kids would rather run around the grass than play in the water. And the other thing I don't get is why when kids get the least amount of water on them they think they are freezing and come running for the towls. Maybe it's just been too long since I was a kid. I got a little splashed on me and I thought if felt good.
The two pictured here (Lindsey and Cheyenne, Lindsey is mine and Cheyenne is a niece) are not quite to the helpful stage yet, but give them a few years and they will be.
Here's Mccoy trying to look busy so that no one will come looking for him to help. He's also not quite to the helpful stage yet. The kids all love to be on the mountain and by the time we are done, we usually bring a lot of the mountain home with us. The dirt that comes off faces, out of shoes and clothes is enough to start a sandbox.
On Saturday after all the wood was cut, split and put away Grandma Kaye let the kids turn on the water and fill up the sandbox. They love to build rivers and streams around the sandbox. The sandbox is under a big tree, so it is the perfect place to play for the afternoon. By the time the kids were done with the water it had worked its way out of the sandbox and made a lake under the trampoline. Chad and Mccoy are wading in the lake.
